If one of the keys to being a great leader is asking great questions, then one of the keys of asking great questions is knowing when to ask them. Today seems like a pretty good day to ask this one.
All around us, leaders and their organizations are under siege by matters related to Integrity … or the lack thereof. It almost doesn’t matter where you look:
It’s fairly easy to talk about what a Leader should do when there is a lack of integrity in the people they are leading: get rid of them.
But what should the people do when it is the Leader for whom Integrity is nothing more than a dishonest, hollow cliche? No, you can’t fire the boss … but you can quit following them. When leaders, organizations, and cultures demand Loyalty first over a commitment to Integrity, bad things usually result.
Just quit following them.
